EMPLOMENT  OPPORTUNITY.

TUMU Medical Institute/Hospital, located in Buhweju District ,(western Uganda). Has a job opening for a talented, dynamic, and innovative individual with HR and public relations training.

POSITION(ONE) : Human Resource/Corporate Affairs Officer(HR/CAO)

Job Purpose: Coordinate the Human resource function and public Relations services of the hospital and the Institute

.Desired skills competencies and experience:

  • A degree  in Business Administration,  Human resource Management, information technology, Mass communication  or any other relevant formal degree
  • Strong interpersonal skills is a must
  • Good communication skills, writing skills, and demonstratable administrative capabilities
  • Knowledge of modern computer applications including fixing minor IT issues is an added advantage
  • Must be organized, good at personal administration and results oriented.
  • Other relevant supplementary documents proving to have trained in management in different fields,
  • Willingness to work and stay in a rural setting for longer periods is VERY ESSENTIAL
  • Experience of having worked in a medical/Training setting is required but not a must so long the candidate is willing to learn.

Job Purpose: Coordinate the Human resource function and public Relations services of the hospital and the Institute.

Human Resource functions

  • In liaison with the ED, and other stakeholders, take care of the Human Resource function of the hospital, Institute, farm including staff welfare, motivation schemes, facilitation, leaves, offs and any other activity that makes staff productivity increase.
  • Making staff yearly leave plan and making sure leaves and offs are taken without affecting work.
  • Interviewing and hiring
  • Personal counseling
  • Manages Employee training
  • Staff compensation and benefit management (where applicable)
  • Performance evaluation
  • Implementation of professional programs
  • Compliance with the local government and central government obligations. This is done in liaison with Finance department.
  • Safety and sanitation of the work place
  • Labor relations and mediations
  • Supervising Employee meetings
  • Maintenance and or improvement of Employee retention and morale

As Corporate Affairs officer

  • Handles all the community and political related issues for the hospital. This includes building a good working relationship between the hospital and the local Administration right from the LC1 to the District level.
  • Receives all the corporate Visitors for the hospital/Institute
  • She/he will be the Public relations officer of the Hospital/Institute and performs all the public relations activities
  • Handling marketing activities of the hospital/Institute. This involves coordinating customer care activities, public Relations, and marketing
  • Managing the company website on regular basis
  • Handle incoming press enquires and coordinate responses with appropriate in consultation with the Executive Director.
  • Manage communication of marketing activities such as outreaches, introduction of government initiatives, etc.
  • Coordinating efficient internal communication. 
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
